My primary research is at the intersection of engineering, clinical medicine and physiology, focused on model-based therapeutics. Specifically, I am involved with the modelling, sensing, and control of dynamic physiological systems for clinical medicine, especially in the critical care environment. My research has particular emphasis on using physiological models to synthesise and “add value” to new or existing sensor data to enable improved care for patients through improved monitoring, diagnosis, and control, as well as reduced cost/effort for clinicians.
