Brenda LazelleVictoria University of Wellington
Senior Business Liaison Advisor
Brenda has a business and education background. In 1998 she joined Crop & Food Research as a business manager based in Palmerston North where she worked closely with the plant pigments and nutrition and health teams. In 2003 as Investment Manager she took over the project management of one of Crop’s IP investments and oversaw the building of a pilot plant and food grade production of a nutraceutical.
Following her time at Crop & Food she managed a business incubator supporting start-ups, a number of whom were involved in early stage medical and assistive device development.
Over the last six years she has had a senior role in a company providing project management and consultancy services in developing countries, primarily in the Pacific and Asia.
Brenda has joined Victoria University as Senior Business Liaison Advisor to support the building of relationships and university linkages with industry. She recognises the important role of research and innovation in promoting economic, social and environmental wellbeing. The full impact of research and innovation on national wellbeing, however, will only be realised if research outputs are aligned with and successfully transferred to user environments
