About the event
Iwi United Engaged (IUE) is providing a revised Whaia Te Tika workshop series to early career researchers that covers bridging the technological divide between researchers and the Maaori community by exploring what it means to be a partner of Te Tiriti o Waitangi in the rangahau space. We are unable to offer inter-city travel for this series but may be able to organise travel within Auckland.
YOU MUST ATTEND BOTH SESSIONS
1. September 5th 2023 10am - 4pm online.
Explores foundations of partnership and kaupapa Maaori, including
- Equity/Changing the unequal ground
- Kaupapa Maaori approaches and other frameworks
- Discrimination/Positionality … We all have good stuff
- Research and suspicions … Taking the hoha out of the narrative
2. September 7th 2023 10am - 4pm in-person at Manukau, Auckland.
Explores kaupapa Maaori and research relationships, including
- Let’s koorero about your research, expanding what we know about your mahi and applying a kaupapa Maaori lens
- Kaupapa Maaori frameworks and applications in research pathways
- Effective community engagement methods
