Healthtech Award - Best Translational Research Project

The Healthtech Award will recognise the best translational research project with targeted health benefits and/or commercialisation opportunity.

The winner will receive:

  • Complimentary registration, flights and accommodation to attend Medica 2015 in Dusseldorf, Germany. Medica is the largest international medical tradeshow and attendees can expect to gain valuable information on current trends in healthcare.
  • Market research support provided by the most relevant CMDT partner technology transfer office, as well as complimentary registration for next year's Healthcare Congress.

    This award is open to any translational research project associated with MedTech CoRE PIs and AIs.

From a shortlist of up to 4 abstracts per CoRE partner, the best 8 abstracts will be selected for presentation at the MedTech CoRE Conference on Monday 15 June, comprising 1 abstract per CoRE partner and 2 ‘wildcards’. The successful applicants will have 5 minutes to present their work, plus 2 minutes for audience questions.

The winner will be chosen by a panel representing industry, clinical, and science experts and will be judged based on both written abstract and oral presentation. Judging criteria includes: embodiment of award theme, medical and commercial potential of research, innovation, and creativity and efficacy in communication of research to a wider audience.

Please note: while the winner will be announced at the Conference, the Award will be presented formally at the Healthtech Innovation and Investment day on Thursday 18 June 2015. The winning team will be expected to present their work at this event as well.
