Project Summary
Anorectal retractors are an essential tool in general surgical practice. They are routinely employed in the operative management of a wide range of common pathologies including haemorrhoids, fistulas, rectal prolapse, fissures, rectocoeles, polyps and tumours of the anorectum. Over a million relevant procedures are perfromed annually in the US alone. Anorectal retractor designs in current use were introduced many decades ago
