Te Tītoki Mataora and Moana Connect are proud to offer a free, 1-day workshop designed for participants to develop their awareness, understanding of, and responsiveness to the needs of Pacific communities. This will benefit all those doing research in Aotearoa New Zealand and the Pacific region.

About the event

This workshop is designed for participants to develop their awareness, understanding, and responsiveness to the needs of Pacific communities.  This workshop will benefit all those doing research in Aotearoa New Zealand and the Pacific region and also anyone wanting to apply to host a Te 

Tītoki Mataora-funded Māori & Pacific summer student for summer 2024/2025.

The workshop will explore the following topics:

  • Pacific worldviews
  • Social theories that impact Pacific communities
  • Navigating the Digital Vā
  • Pacific Data Sovereignty
  • Considerations for supervising Pacific students
