Medtech-iQ Aotearoa

Medtech-iQ Aotearoa is our national backbone for innovation with four linked regional hubs in Tāmaki Makaurau, Pōneke, Ōtautahi, and Ōtepoti. New Zealand's MedTech sector has significantly grown in the last 12 years and Medtech-iQ Aotearoa is taking this momentum and continuing to accelerate the ecosystem. It is the umbrella entity that provides direction, influences policy, coordinates activities and runs programmes that everyone across the country can access.

Medtech-iQ Aotearoa has three goals:

To put New Zealand on the map for medical device and digital health innovation to attract new partners and investment into the ecosystem.

To foster start-ups with business models based on high-tech innovation in engineering or major scientific advances.

To create a MedTech innovation ecosystem accessible to all that delivers new healthcare solutions, putting the consumer at the centre.

Our Regional Hubs

Within each regional hub, partners and community work together to coordinate and provide specific expertise into the national ecosystem. They provide a physical and virtual place for multi-disciplinary and cross-industry collaboration to develop and deliver new health technologies.
