EBOS BUYS LIFEHEALTHCARE FOR $1.3B

Ebos, the largest distributor of healthcare products in New Zealand and Australia, is spending A$1.2 billion (NZ$1.3b) on a healthcare distribution business as it looks to future growth.

The NZX-listed company said on Thursday it will buy LifeHealthcare’s Australian and New Zealand subsidiaries and 51 per cent of its Asian subsidiary Transmedic.

Ebos has been expanding its medical and pet care businesses through acquisitions, making its first foray into the A$8b medical devices sector in 2019 with the A$34 million purchase of LMT/National Surgical Group.

The addition of LifeHealthcare will help Ebos become one of the region's leading medical device distribution companies, and marks its first material investment into South East Asia.
