Growing the New Zealand medical device industry

The Consortium for Medical Device Technologies has been established to help grow the medical device industry in New Zealand.

The CMDT will act as a national resource to link research activities at NZ Universities and Crown Research Institutes with companies, healthcare providers, regulatory and industry bodies, the Health Innovation Hub and the Commercialisation Partner Networks.

A national resource linking the research community with clinicians and industry

The Consortium for Medical Device Technologies will:

  • make access to research providers in New Zealand easy through a one-stop portal
  • enhance research collaborations between Universities and CRIs in medical device technologies and regenerative medicine
  • facilitate access to funding sources for project ideas
  • facilitate international connections for researchers and startup companies
